Why we built Vaurse
Proof of who you are and what you've done shouldn't live in a drawer. Here is why we started Vaurse, and the rules we keep.

Ask anyone who has applied for a job, enrolled in a school or signed up for a membership, and you'll hear the same story. You bring photocopies. Someone squints at a stamp. A letter is sent to an office that may or may not reply. Weeks pass. And at the end of it, the person on the other side still isn't quite sure.
The problem isn't that people lack proof. It's that the proof lives in the wrong places: in a drawer, in an HR file at a company you left three years ago, in a registry that only answers letters. The people who know the truth (your employer, your school, the organiser of the course you finished) are rarely asked, and when they are, it's slow.
It is getting harder, not easier. A CV, a certificate, an ID card or an employment letter now takes seconds to fake, and AI makes the fakes better every month. So employers phone old bosses, schools answer the same degree check by hand again and again, and the people telling the truth wait while it's all checked.
What we're building
Vaurse turns that around. We don't try to spot fakes. We go to the source. The people who know you sign what's true about you, straight onto your record: your job, your degree, your certificate, your pass. You carry it on your Voscard, the free one in the app or a printed card. And anyone you choose to show it to can check it in a second, with a tap, a scan or a link.
Three parts, always in the same order: signed by the people who know, carried by you, checked by anyone.
Every Vaurse product reads from that same signed record. So a fact signed once works at the door, at the till, on a job and in another app. Your Voscard is where it all comes together.
Why it matters
When proof is easy, good things get easier too. A graduate is hired for what they've done, not who they know. A business can see a new hire's real work history before day one. A door opens for the right person, and an event knows its guests are real. Talent that used to be overlooked becomes visible.
Think of a worker with no certificates at all, say, a plumber called Kofi. With Vaurse Hire, which we're building now, each time a client confirms a finished job, it becomes a signed record on both sides. One job at a time, he builds proof that strangers can trust. That is the kind of change we started Vaurse for.
What we won't do
Trust only works if it's earned, so we hold ourselves to a few rules:
- Your record is yours. You decide who sees it and what they see. Every request shows in your app, and you can say no.
- Nobody can edit what was signed. Not you, and not us. If something is wrong, the signer corrects it, and the change is shown.
- Facts, not opinions. No ratings of people, no reasons for leaving, no performance, salary, criminal, credit or medical information.
- Nobody can look you up by name. A check starts with your card number, a tap or a link you gave.
- We never sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone.
We also check every organisation before it can sign or issue anything, and its signing is turned off if it signs something false. You can read more in Trust & security.
Where we're starting
We're starting in Ghana because it's home, because the need is real, and because the tools people already use every day (phones, mobile money) make it possible. Vaurse Ltd is a technology company in Accra, and we follow Ghana's Data Protection Act.
Being built here shapes how Vaurse works. Mobile money, weak signal and phones come first. Doors keep working offline. And if you don't have a smartphone, we can still text you a digital card.
We'll grow from here, across Africa and beyond. You can see what we're building, and what comes next, on our roadmap.
If you've ever had to prove something twice, Vaurse is for you.
