These terms are the agreement between you and Vaurse Ltd ("Vaurse", "we", "us"), a company in Accra, Ghana. They cover the Vaurse app, your Voscard, vaurse.com, voscentral.com, the Workplace, Engagement and Campus portals, and our developer platform (together, "Vaurse"). By using Vaurse, you agree to them. We've written them in plain words; if anything is unclear, ask us.
1. Who can use Vaurse
- You need a phone number you control, and you must check who you are once, in the app, with your Ghana Card.
- You must be at least 18 to open your own account. Younger students can use a Voscard issued by their school, under the school's own rules and with a parent or guardian's agreement.
- One person, one account. Don't open an account for someone else or pretend to be anyone you're not.
- If you use Vaurse for an organisation, you confirm you're allowed to act for it, and the organisation is bound by these terms too.
2. Your account
- Keep your phone, your SIM and your sign-in codes to yourself. Signing in to Vaurse needs a code sent to your phone.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You can freeze your card in one tap in the app.
- Vaurse support will never ask for your PIN, a code or a password.
3. Your Voscard
- Every person gets a digital Voscard in the app, free.
- You can order a printed Voscard (plastic, wood, metal or 24K gold) at the prices on our Prices page. Printed cards are made to order with your name on them.
- A Voscard has a number: VOS and 12 digits. Numbers are never reused.
- If your card is lost or stolen, freeze it in the app. Doors that are online stop accepting it at once; doors that are offline stop within 30 minutes.
- Staff and student cards are issued and paid for by your employer or school. They control whether that card works at their doors and tills, and it stops when you leave. Your record of the time you spent there stays yours.
4. Your record
- Your record holds facts that other people have signed about you: your job, your degree, a certificate, a pass. Only the person or organisation that knows can sign a fact. You can't sign facts about yourself.
- Nobody can edit a signed fact, not you, not the signer and not us. If something is wrong, the signer can withdraw it and sign a corrected one, and your record shows the change.
- You decide who sees your record and what they see. Every request to see it shows in your app.
- If you believe something signed about you is wrong, tell the signer first. If that doesn't work, tell us and we'll help you raise it with them.
5. Organisations that sign and issue
- Employers, schools and other organisations that sign facts or issue cards must be checked by Vaurse first, and must only sign what they know to be true.
- An organisation must have a lawful reason to hold the information it puts on someone's record, and must follow the law on personal data.
- Signing something false, or signing to harm someone, will get the organisation's signing turned off and may be reported.
- Organisations agree to our Data Processing Agreement when they use the portals or the developer platform.
6. Voscentral, deals, memberships and events
- Deals, memberships and events on Voscentral are offered by the businesses and organisers that post them, not by Vaurse. They are responsible for what they offer and for honouring it.
- Every business on Voscentral has been checked by us. That check covers who they are; it is not a promise about the quality of what they sell.
- When you pay for an event pass, the money goes straight to the organiser's own mobile money number. The buyer pays Vaurse a GHS 3 fee per paid pass. Membership money goes to the business. Vaurse never holds a business's money.
- Online offers come with a personal code for you. Codes are for your own use; don't sell or share them.
7. Paying us
- Vaurse only takes money for its own things: printed cards, replacements, our fees and paid plans.
- Prices are in Ghana cedis and are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by our payment provider, Hubtel. We never ask for card numbers or PINs on our own pages.
- Refunds follow our Refund policy.
8. What you must not do
- Use Vaurse to break the law, to deceive anyone, or to harm anyone.
- Copy, fake or tamper with a Voscard, a pass, a code or a signed fact.
- Try to get into an account, a card or a door that isn't yours, or get around our security.
- Collect other people's details from Vaurse, scrape it, or build profiles of people from it.
- Resell Vaurse, or use our name and logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, without our written agreement.
9. Our part
- We work hard to keep Vaurse running and safe, and we show what's working on status.vaurse.com. We can't promise it will never be interrupted.
- We may change or stop features. If a change takes away something you've paid for, we'll tell you first and follow our Refund policy.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or to protect people. Where we can, we'll tell you why and give you a chance to respond.
10. Leaving
- You can close your account at any time in the app. Closing it stops your Voscard.
- Signed facts on your record belong to your record. When you close your account, we delete your personal data as described in our Privacy policy, apart from what the law requires us to keep.
11. Liability
Our liability to you, and its limits, will be set out here after legal review. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ghanaian consumer law.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before the change, and show what changed. If you keep using Vaurse after that, the new terms apply.
13. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. If we can't settle a disagreement together, the courts of Ghana will decide it.
