What is a Voscard?
Your card for who you are and what you've done: free in the Vaurse app, or printed if you want one to hold.

A Voscard is the card you carry with Vaurse. Everyone gets one free in the Vaurse app, and you can have it printed in plastic, wood, metal or 24K gold if you want something to hold. The printed card and the one in the app share the same number, so they work as one card.
What's on it
Your Voscard carries your record: the facts other people have signed about you, like your jobs, degrees and certificates. Only the people who know can sign them. Your employer signs your job. Your school signs your degree. You can't sign facts about yourself, and nobody can edit a signed fact, not you and not us. If something is wrong, the signer can correct it, and the change shows on your record.
The card also holds your event passes, your memberships, your stamp cards and your deals from Voscentral. You choose what each person can see.
Every Voscard has a number: VOS and 12 digits, like VOS 4821 5518 2090. When you're asked for it, you can type just the 12 digits. The last digit is a check digit, so a typo is caught straight away.
Free in the app, or printed
The digital card in the app is free, always. It works with a tap, a QR code or its number. Getting one takes about two minutes:
- Get the Vaurse app.
- Check who you are once, with your Ghana Card.
- Your digital Voscard is ready. Order a printed one in the app or at voscentral.com/shop if you'd like.
A printed card has your name on it and starts at GHS 400. You can pick a design from the Voscentral collection or upload your own, and a person at Vaurse checks every custom design within one working day. A printed card needs no charging, and it comes with the digital card, so you can use either. All the card prices are on our prices page.
No smartphone? We can text you a digital card, and a printed card works on its own at doors and tills.
What it does
- Share who you are. Tap it on a phone or show its code. The other person doesn't need the app, and you can see who looked.
- Open doors. At work and at school, where your organisation uses Vaurse. The door keeps working with no signal.
- Clock in. Your hours are recorded and signed by your employer.
- Get into events. Your pass lives on your card. Door staff see your name and pass type, never what you paid.
- Use deals and memberships. Show your card at the till. The shop sees a first name and a yes.
- Prove it for a job. Employers check your signed record instead of a CV.
Staff cards and student cards are Voscards too, issued by your employer or school. When you leave, their card stops working, and the record of your time there stays yours.
Doors, clock-in and Voscentral deals are being built now. You can see where each one stands on our roadmap.
What a check shows, and never shows
Anyone can check a Voscard, free, with no account. They type the 12 digits, or tap or scan the card, and get one of three answers: real and active, with your name as the issuer has it; real but frozen, with no name; or not found. A check never shows a photo, a phone number or an address.
For anything more, like a job or a degree, you share it from your app, and only the parts you choose. Nobody can look you up by name. A check always starts with your card number, a tap, or a link you gave.
If you lose it
Freeze it in one tap in the app. Doors that are online stop accepting it at once, and doors that are offline stop within 30 minutes.
A replacement keeps everything: your record, your passes and your stamps. A new printed card costs GHS 200, and your old number is never used again. Your record was never on the plastic in the first place, so losing the card doesn't mean losing what's been signed about you.
