Request a record: coming next
We're planning a way for embassies, employers and universities outside Vaurse to ask for a person's signed record, with the person deciding.

A card check answers one question: is this card real and active? For many decisions, that isn't enough. An embassy wants to see a degree. An employer in another country wants to confirm a past job. A university wants to see results. Today, that usually means letters, stamps and a long wait.
Request a record is our answer, and it is coming next. It is planned, not live yet. This is what we intend it to do.
What it is
Embassies, employers and universities anywhere, including those that don't use Vaurse, will be able to ask for a person's signed record: their degrees, their jobs, their licences. The people who issued them signed each line. The person decides what the organisation sees.
It goes further than a card check. A check shows whether a Voscard is real and active, and never a photo, a phone number or an address. A record request is how an organisation asks to see more, and only with the person's say-so. The record is shared with a named requester, for a stated purpose and a set time.
A university, for example, could receive an applicant's results signed by the school that issued them, with the applicant's consent, instead of a scanned slip.
How it will work
- Tell us who you are, with your official work email.
- Choose what you need and why.
- The person accepts or declines in the Vaurse app, within 7 days.
- See the signed record and get a receipt anyone can check.
No account is needed to ask. Organisations that ask often will be able to open a free organisation account and keep every receipt in one place.
Who pays, and when
Asking is free. The organisation pays only if the person accepts. And the organisation chooses who pays: the organisation itself, or the person.
A person pays only if they choose to. Think of a visa applicant, say, Abena, who is applying to study abroad. She may choose to pay the fees for her own application herself. If the person says no, nothing is shared and nobody pays.
You'll find the planned price on our prices page.
What it will never show
Record requests are about facts, not opinions. They never include a reason for leaving, performance, salary, or criminal, credit or medical information.
Everything else stays the same as the rest of Vaurse:
- Nobody sees your record without your say-so, and you see every request.
- Each line was signed by the employer, school or body that knows, and nobody can edit it, not you and not us.
- Every organisation that signs on Vaurse is checked by us first.
- We never sell your data.
Why this matters
For the person, it means one tap instead of chasing old employers and registries for letters. For the organisation, it means a record signed at the source, instead of a scanned slip that may or may not be real. For the school or employer that signed it, it means fewer of the same checks answered by hand again and again.
Request a record is planned for everywhere, not just Ghana. Developers will also be able to use record requests in their own apps, through the developer platform.
Plans change as we learn, so nothing here is a promise of a date. Follow it on our roadmap.
