Your record is yours
What goes on your Vaurse record, who can add to it, who can see it, and what you can do with it.

Your Vaurse record is the collection of facts other people have signed about you: a job, a degree, a certificate, a course you finished, an event you attended. It's yours, and it goes with you when you change jobs or schools.
This guide explains how it works, in plain terms: who adds to it, who can change it, who can see it, and what you can do with it.
Who adds to it
Only the people who know. Your employer can sign that you worked there and what you did. Your school can sign your results. An organiser can sign that you attended. You can't add a signed fact about yourself, which is exactly what makes it worth something.
Every organisation that signs or issues on Vaurse is checked by us first, and its signing is turned off if it signs something false. Each fact on your record shows who signed it and when.
Your record holds facts, not opinions. Nobody can put a rating of you on it, a reason for leaving, your performance, your salary, or criminal, credit or medical information.
Who can edit it? Nobody. Once a fact is signed, it can't be changed: not by you, not by the person who signed it, and not by us. If something is wrong, the person who signed it can withdraw it and sign a corrected one, and your record shows that it changed.
If you spot a mistake, ask the signer to correct it. We'll help you ask them.
Who can see it
Only the people you choose. When you share your card or your record, you decide what's shown. Checking a Voscard shows whether it's real and active, and on a green answer your name as the issuer has it. It never shows a photo, a phone number or an address.
- People you share with see only what you chose to share.
- Organisations you belong to see what they need to run your cards, doors and records, and nothing from your other organisations.
- Apps you connect with "Sign in with Vaurse" get only what you approve on your phone. Your attendance, door taps and where your card has been are never shared with apps.
Every check, request and opening of your record shows in your app, so you're never left guessing.
What you can do with it
Most of this you can do yourself in the app, under Privacy and access:
- See what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Hide or stop sharing a fact.
- Take access back from any app or person.
- Close your account and ask us to delete your data.
Your record, your identity mark and checking a card stay free on every plan. Proof is never a paid feature.
When you leave a job
Your staff card stops working at that employer, which is how it should be. Your record of the time you spent there stays with you. The same goes for school: graduates keep their record free for life.
If your card is lost, you can freeze it in one tap, and your record stays safe. A replacement keeps your record, passes and stamps, and your old card number is never reused.
What we never do
We never sell your data, and we never rent it out. We never show your record without your say-so. We never use your data to score you, to profile you, or to show you ads from other companies. And support will never ask for your PIN, a code or a password.
Vaurse follows Ghana's Data Protection Act. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except what the law requires us to keep, such as payment records.
